Strengthening of Marriage and Family
Dr. Jenkins' Uplifting Words Stressed the Importance of Family
ACLC Dayton OH Prayer Breakfast
Published: March 12, 2010

The Prayer Breakfast for the Dayton, Ohio, ACLC was held at The College Hill Community Church on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Pastor Robert E. Jones hosted this exciting conference. Our keynote speaker was the ACLC National Chairman, Rev. Michael Jenkins who was born and raised in the Dayton area so it was especially significant. He brought with him four guests: his brother Matthew and his wife Susan, her father and her brother were first time guests at this prayer breakfast.

ACLC Coordinator, Bishop Emma Curtis White of Church on the Rock Ministries, Inc was the master of ceremonies. After welcoming remarks by host Pastor Jones and a prayer of blessing by Rev. Thomas Johnson of Summit Christian Church, all in attendance enjoyed a healthy breakfast. A musical selection was given by Rev. Mark McDougald of the Cincinnati chapter of Ambassadors for Peace. His solo was a reverent and inspiring song that set a high spiritual tone for the event.

Reverend Jenkins’ presentation was filled with the power and joy of the Holy Spirit as he presented key concepts of the Fall of Man, the Mission of Jesus and the life of Jesus during his ministry. Throughout his talk, he offered numerous Biblical excerpts that presented strong, thought provoking evidence concerning Jesus’ humanity and his divinity, references that offered insight into the idea that Jesus was not automatically born as the Messiah. He noted the fact that Jesus had to suffer many trials and challenges to overcome his own humanity to win God’s and Satan’s recognition as the Savior of humanity.

Rev. Jenkins emphasized how the prayer Jesus prayed in Gethsemane was a prayer of urgency and desperation for God’s providence. Then he spoke of the importance of marriage, citing Biblical references in Genesis and the New Testament indicating that marriage is a sacred institution for life. Also, he stated that it is only though a God-centered family that our culture today can become redirected and re-focused on God-centered morals and ethics which for many decades have been lost.

This early spring prayer breakfast was certainly a powerful and inspirational beginning to the year of ACLC activities in the Dayton area. Pastor Robert E. Jones remarked that this was one of the best prayer breakfasts we ever had.

Host Pastor Dr. Robert Jones, ACLC Leader and Pastor of the Community Christian Church (Presbyterian U.S.A.)   Dr. Jones received his Masters in Divinity from Yale and his Doctorate from United Theological Seminary.

Testimony by Dr. Shirley Johnson

During the prayer breakfast on March 6, 2010, the unquestionable presence of the Holy Spirit was keen. All those in attendance appeared to be authentically focused on the purpose of restoring family values and the healing of our nation as the kingdom of God is reestablished on earth. The honorable Rev. Dr. Michael Jenkins, speaking under the heavy anointing of the Holy Spirit, delivered an inspirational message challenging the clergy and leadership to put what we have learned into constant practice.

His uplifting words stressed the importance of family, Godly obedience to family values, living pure lives and being representatives that live the truth as well as teach the truth.

He also shared the critical need for the message of reverence in marriages and in the taking of the holy wine. Rev. Jenkins’ message (for me) was profound, piercing my heart with a renewed conviction to go forward recognizing and accepting that the time is now for taking our rightful positions leading the world in the restoration of God-centered families.
