ACLC-Houston Shares Father Moon’s Vision for World Peace at Interfaith Event

Houston Christian leaders were joined by representatives of Buddhism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Islam at a very successful Interfaith Meeting on Friday, May 14, organized by Imam Mohammed Zafarullah of Ahmadyya Mosque. As ACLC’s representative in Houston, I was honored to be a keynote speaker and shared content from Father Moon’s peace messages that have inspired many of us:

God didn't create Adam and Eve as Baptist, Lutheran or Methodist, but as his children -- to create a family of True Love to have his true lineage. God is our parent who wants to have "one family under God" and now the time has arrived that we need to break down the walls which separate us. The purpose of our lives on earth is live for the sake of others. Jesus set this example 2,000 years ago, that whatever we bind on earth we will be bound in heaven, that whatever we do on this earth is recorded and we will be our own Judge. Ultimately True Love is of the highest importance, not political power, money or secular knowledge. We as a religious community should unite together as "One Family under God" to promote Global Peace. This has been Father Moon’s living testimony. He has been carrying the torch to create world peace and worked behind to scenes to establish an Interreligious Counsel at the UN. All the religious leaders and saints are watching over us at this providential time to create a World of Peace, Love and Unity.

Professor David Capes of Houston Baptist University gave the closing remarks. At the end there was an answer and question session followed by refreshments.

Here are some of the questions asked and points made by participants:

1. What is your view of life after death?

2. If a person is not religious but lives a good life will this person go to good place in the after life?

3. There was a very good response especially from the Muslim community/Clergy on the concept of  One Family under God and that we need to break down the walls that separate us. The President sent me an email how much he was inspired by the Peace message and wants to know what they can do to support ACLC/AFP here in Houston.

Some of the points made by participants:

The Christian Clergy believed that World Peace only can come by accepting Jesus as our Lord of Saviour and be forgiven of our Sin.

Muslim Clergy mentioned that whatever we do is recorded and that our daily action will determine where we will end up in the afterlife.

Hindu speaker through peace can only come through accepting each other as equal spiritual beings. She referred also to Mother Theresa that it is important that we live for the sake of others.

The Buddhist speaker emphasized humbleness as an important aspect towards achieving a more harmonious world.
